Prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu, Lagos State, have commended the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for conducting a peaceful and efficient local government election across the state on Saturday.

Speaking during the election exercise, former Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, praised the conduct of LASIEC officials, describing their performance as outstanding.

She noted that both electoral materials and ad hoc staff arrived at their designated polling units promptly, which greatly contributed to the smooth conduct of the election.

“The entire process has been free, fair, and credible,” she said. “The large voter turnout is a strong indication that the people are acknowledging and supporting the positive impact of the APC both in Lagos and across the nation.

We believe the APC will not only win in this council but also secure victories across other councils in the state. We are optimistic that the number of votes cast today will surpass those recorded during the last local government elections.”

Also expressing satisfaction with the electoral process, the APC Chairmanship candidate for Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Mr. Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (popularly known as HOA), cast his vote at exactly 10:55 a.m. at Polling Unit 009, located at Yewa/Odofin junction, Ward C1, Igbogbo.

Aroyewun described the entire exercise as transparent and credible, commending LASIEC for demonstrating the competence expected of an independent electoral body.

“In spite of a few isolated hitches here and there, LASIEC’s overall coordination was impressive,” he remarked.

“The massive turnout shows that the people are eager to choose their leaders and are fully behind the APC. I am confident of a landslide victory for our party, as the electorate believe in the developmental strides and leadership direction of the APC at both state and national levels.”

Similarly, the outgoing Chairman of the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Sesan Daini, shared his impressions of the electoral process, applauding LASIEC’s efforts and describing the process as well-organized and encouraging.

“I must commend the voters for their active participation and the security agencies for ensuring peace and order throughout the election. The large turnout and smooth process speak volumes about the people’s trust in the democratic process,” he said.

“I anticipate a sweeping victory for the APC across all 57 councils in the state. This election, in my opinion, is a litmus test that reflects what Nigerians can expect from Lagos State as we approach the 2027 general elections.”
