“The latest announcement by the Kano State Government regarding the management board of Kano Pillars, with the inclusion of respected professionals, is a cheering one,” Benjamin stated.

“As sports journalists, we have observed the positive reactions from Nigerian football lovers—particularly Kano Pillars supporters—since these appointments were made. The inclusion of Malikawa and Ahmed Musa has been widely applauded.”

He emphasized that both men are highly regarded figures in Nigerian sports, and their presence on the board could usher in a new era of success for the club, both domestically and continentally.

“We believe their presence will certainly make a difference as Kano Pillars aim to return to the top level of performance in the NPFL and on the continental stage,” he added.

A Call for Commitment and Progress

SWAN urged the appointees to redouble their efforts to meet the expectations of the Kano State Government, the Kano Pillars institution, and their passionate fan base.

The SWAN President also used the opportunity to call for an improved Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in the upcoming season, stressing the role of the sporting media as a critical stakeholder in the growth and development of football in Nigeria.

“As the media arm of the sports community, we will continue to play our watchdog role constructively, contributing meaningfully to the growth of Nigerian football,” Benjamin concluded.
