A 600-level Dentistry and Surgery student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Anikworji Chukwuemeka Joel, emerged as one of five top-performing realtors awarded brand-new cars by Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd during the company’s 2025 Mid-Year Realtors’ Feast. The event, held at the International Conference Centre, Independence Layout, Enugu, gathered over 1,000 real estate partners, staff, and guests from across Nigeria.

The celebratory occasion, which included the presentation of cars, iPhones, refrigerators, generators, televisions, and other household appliances, formed part of Powell Homes’ commitment to rewarding dedication and empowering Nigeria’s youth through sustainable real estate practices.

Architect Chibuikem Emmanuel Onyekachi, Managing Director and CEO of Powell Homes, described the incentive programme as a cornerstone of the company’s corporate philosophy.

“We’re not just building homes; we’re building futures. Recognising and rewarding hard work, especially among our young and vibrant realtors, is how we inspire commitment and excellence,” he said.

According to Onyekachi, the biannual Realtors’ Feast serves not only as a platform for bonding and collaboration but also as a strategic tool to encourage performance across Nigeria’s competitive property market. He noted that the firm’s vision is rooted in professionalism, innovation, and expanding access to affordable and decent housing nationwide.

“This event is about more than rewards—it’s about community, trust, and believing in the power of youth to transform the real estate sector. With every car, every prize, we’re saying thank you to the people building our vision with us,” he added.

Among the highlight moments of the night was the presentation of the brand-new cars to five realtors, including UNN student Anikworji Joel, whose dedication to marketing Powell Homes’ properties across regions earned him a coveted spot among the winners.

“This feels surreal,” Joel shared emotionally. “As a student, balancing academics with this role hasn’t been easy. But this reward proves that hard work pays off. I’m grateful to Powell Homes for this opportunity.”

The event also featured a keynote by Nollywood veteran and Powell Homes brand ambassador, Patience Ozokwo (Mama G), who praised the company for offering “hope and dignity through housing” to young Nigerians.

“What Powell Homes is doing is bigger than real estate. They’re showing that honesty, customer service, and reward for effort still matter in business. Their impact goes beyond buildings,” she said.

With a growing realtor network composed largely of young Nigerians, Powell Homes is positioning itself as more than a real estate company—it is a social enterprise focused on inclusive economic participation. According to Onyekachi, over 1,000 active partners, many of them under 35, are helping reshape Nigeria’s housing landscape through honest sales and genuine client engagement.

“When you empower people with opportunity and reward, they take ownership of your vision. That’s why our partners are thriving,” he said.

The company also reaffirmed its mission to close Nigeria’s housing gap by delivering affordable, secure, and sustainable housing solutions. Its estates, located in Enugu, Lagos, Abuja, and other fast-growing regions, are designed to meet the housing needs of Nigeria’s working population.

Powell Homes has announced plans to extend its realtors’ reward scheme to more cities before the year ends. It also aims to deepen its digital infrastructure, making it easier for new partners to register, learn, and begin earning from any part of the country.

As the real estate sector continues to expand, initiatives like this are not only raising the bar for performance but also demonstrating how private enterprise can drive youth empowerment, wealth creation, and housing inclusion.
