Veteran Three Lions of England defender Kyle Walker has completed a permanent move to newly-promoted Burnley FC, signing a two-year contract in a deal worth a reported £5 million ($6.8 million) to Manchester City.
The 35-year-old right-back, who joined City in 2017, brings a wealth of experience to the Clarets, having made 410 Premier League appearances and won the league title six times, along with the UEFA Champions League during his time at the Etihad.

Kyle Walker had spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at AC Milan, but the Italian side opted not to activate their purchase option thus sending him back to Manchester.

His contract with Manchester City was set to expire in June 2026, but with limited playing time and his exclusion from City’s Club World Cup squad, a transfer had long been expected.
Walker on his move to Burnley: “It Was an Opportunity I Jumped At”
Speaking after the announcement, Walker expressed excitement about the new challenge:
“I’m delighted to be here,” he said in Burnley’s official statement on Saturday.
“When I spoke to (manager) Scott Parker and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at.
He’s done an amazing job here, guiding the club back to the Premier League with a 100-point haul, and now we’re looking forward, together, to being back in the greatest league in the world.”
Reunion With Parker
The move reunites Walker with Scott Parker, who was his teammate at Tottenham Hotspur between 2011 and 2013. The pair will now work together to help Burnley secure Premier League survival in the upcoming season.

England Career
Kyle Walker has been capped 96 times for England and was a mainstay in the national setup for over a decade. Despite his age, his experience and leadership are expected to be invaluable to Burnley both on and off the pitch.
