Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has turned down a lucrative permanent move to Galatasaray despite the Turkish giants’ willingness to meet his €75 million release clause, according to multiple reports.

The 26-year-old forward, who enjoyed a prolific loan spell in Istanbul—scoring 37 goals across all competitions—has reportedly made it clear that he is not interested in extending his stay in Turkey, despite Galatasaray’s strong desire to keep him.

As reported by multiple Turkish outlets, the Süper Lig champions were prepared to trigger the release clause in Osimhen’s Napoli contract “without batting an eyelid.” However, the striker has rejected their approach, instead prioritizing a move to the English Premier League.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Il Napolista, Osimhen continues to “dream” of playing in the Premier League, though a concrete offer from England is yet to materialize. “There is no agreement between his desires and reality,” the report noted.

Manchester United remain strongly interested in the former Lille forward, despite concerns over financial constraints that could hinder their ability to meet both his wage demands and Napoli’s asking price.

Reports from Corriere del Mezzogiorno, via United in Focus, suggest United’s enduring global appeal could still play a role in convincing the Nigerian star, even though the club will not be competing in European football next season. The publication described United as having a “burning magnetism” capable of attracting Osimhen.

However, finances remain a significant hurdle. Osimhen is reportedly demanding a salary of €12 million per year—a figure United are said to be reluctant to match given their current budget limitations.

The striker’s €75 million release clause remains active until July 15, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, giving interested clubs a limited window to activate the deal before Napoli reassess their stance. While the clause initially appeared decisive, Napoli may now be willing to accept a lower offer in the absence of a bidding war.

Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal have also expressed strong interest and are reportedly willing to offer Osimhen a staggering €40 million per year in wages. Despite the financial lure, the striker has yet to respond positively to the approach, with sources suggesting he remains focused on securing a move to the Premier League.

With the transfer window heating up, Osimhen’s next destination remains uncertain. For now, the striker—who has returned to Naples following his loan spell—continues to wait for the right opportunity to realize his long-held dream of playing in England.
