Yinka Theisen, the ex-partner of actor Linc Edochie, has accused veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie of sustained cyberbullying and public defamation, deepening the cracks in an ongoing feud that has kept fans glued to social media for days.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Theisen alleged that Rita Edochie had consistently used her online platforms to spread “toxicity,” “half-truths,” and “indirect threats” against her. The emotional outburst came after a string of posts and videos from Rita appeared to shade Yinka following her public separation from Linc Edochie.

In her now-viral Instagram post, Yinka Theisen wrote:

“I’ve kept quiet long enough, but silence isn’t peace. Auntie Rita, your constant indirects and outright attacks on my person need to stop. You may be revered in Nollywood, but you’re using your platform to bully and humiliate. I have screenshots, recordings, and witnesses.”

Yinka accused Rita of amplifying private family issues for clout, warning that she may soon expose alleged “receipts” and private messages if the attacks persist. She added that she had endured months of passive-aggressive commentary and veiled insults from the veteran actress.

Tension between the two women reportedly began after Yinka’s messy separation from Linc Edochie — son of the famed Edochie family — in 2023. While neither party detailed the cause of the breakup at the time, public statements made by Rita in defense of her nephew Linc were seen by fans as indirect jabs at Yinka.

Rita Edochie, widely respected for her elder stateswoman role in Nollywood, has not officially responded to the most recent allegations. However, she previously posted a cryptic message on her social media saying:

>l“Those who are full of bitterness and lies will soon choke on their own venom.”

Social Media Reacts

The internet was quick to take sides, with the hashtag #YinkaVsRita trending on X (formerly Twitter) within hours. Some users called for peace and maturity, while others criticized Rita for “bullying under the cloak of veteran status.”

One fan wrote:

“We respect Rita Edochie as a legend, but that doesn’t give her a free pass to bully anyone online. If there are issues, settle them privately.”

Another user said:

“Yinka should stop chasing clout. Airing dirty laundry on the internet won’t fix personal problems.”

Mental health advocates also weighed in, urging both parties to consider the emotional toll of public shaming and cyberbullying.

Although Yinka Theisen has not explicitly stated any legal intentions, her post hinted at “taking further steps” if the harassment continues. Observers suggest that the matter could escalate into legal territory if screenshots or defamatory comments are proven to have harmed Yinka’s public image.

This isn’t the first time a Nollywood family drama has spilled onto social media. The industry, while vibrant and globally influential, has seen several high-profile feuds—many fueled by personal fallouts, broken relationships, or generational conflicts.

Publicists have urged celebrities to employ personal conflict resolution or arbitration before resorting to online confrontations that could damage reputations and legacies.
