Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new four-year contract that will keep him at the City Ground until the summer of 2029.

The 24-year-old Welsh international joined Forest from Liverpool in July 2022 in a deal worth £17 million. Since then, he has made 107 appearances across all competitions, becoming a key figure in the squad.

Williams’ previous contract was due to expire in 2026, but after playing a pivotal role in Forest’s impressive 2024/25 Premier League campaign—where they finished seventh and secured European football for the first time in 30 years (since 1994-95, when they were third)—the club has moved to secure his services for the long term.

Reacting to the news on his official Instagram page, Williams expressed gratitude to the club’s management and excitement for the future:

“Grateful for the trust the club has shown in me and the support from everyone around me! The hard work doesn’t stop here. Excited for what’s ahead next season in Europe and the Premier League.”

The young full back also praised the club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, and manager Nuno Espírito Santo for their confidence in him both on and off the pitch which has contributed massively to his development since he arrived the city ground three years ago.

“This club has come so far in recent years, and I am proud to be on the journey. Everyone knows how ambitious our owner is, and I’m grateful to him for showing belief in me and in the club. It’s a privilege to be playing for a football club with fans like the Forest fans.”

Looking ahead to the 2025/26 campaign, Williams shared his targets:

“We are all looking forward to having those European nights at the City Ground. As a team, we want to create more memories for everyone attached to Forest.”
