The suspected armed robber was overpowered after a courageous resistance by the victim. He was taken to the hospital for treatment but was later confirmed dead due to the injuries he sustained.
A suspected armed robber met his demise following a failed robbery attempt in the Dorayi Babba area of Unguwar Jakada, Kano State.
The incident occurred when the assailant, later identified as Musa Nuhu, forcefully entered a residential compound armed with a knife, intending to rob the occupants.
According to eyewitness accounts, the intruder launched a violent attack after gaining access to the house, inflicting injuries on two female residents in the process. The victims, caught off guard, reportedly sustained varying degrees of knife wounds during the assault.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when a male member of the family bravely intervened. In the course of a fierce physical struggle, both the attacker and the family member sustained serious injuries.
Despite the suspect’s weapon advantage, the courageous resistance mounted by the resident ultimately led to the robber being overpowered and subdued.
Following the confrontation, the suspect was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. However, medical personnel later confirmed his death as a result of the severe injuries he sustained during the struggle.
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the incident. In a statement released on his official Facebook page, the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, commended the victim’s bravery and provided details of the encounter.
“The suspect was overpowered after a courageous resistance by the victim,” the statement read. “He (the robber) was taken to the hospital for treatment but was later confirmed dead due to the injuries he sustained.”
The police also noted that investigations are ongoing and assured residents of their commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
