At least 72 people have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, according to hospital sources cited by Al Jazeera. This latest surge in violence comes amid a worsening humanitarian crisis in the territory, where Palestinians are struggling to access basic necessities.

The Gaza Government Media Office has reported a staggering number of casualties among Palestinians attempting to access humanitarian supplies.

In the past four weeks, at least 549 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces while trying to access aid, with a further 4,066 injured at or near aid distribution sites backed by the US and Israel. These numbers highlight the dire situation on the ground, where civilians are bearing the brunt of the conflict.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has commented on the recent conflict with Israel, saying that his country delivered a “slap to America’s face” by targeting a US airbase.

Khamenei emphasized Iran’s unwavering stance, declaring that the country would never “surrender”. This statement underscores the complex geopolitical dynamics at play in the region.

The humanitarian toll in Gaza continues to mount, with the Health Ministry reporting that at least 56,259 people have been killed and 132,458 wounded since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza.

The October 7 attacks resulted in the deaths of an estimated 1,139 people in Israel, with over 200 taken captive. As the conflict rages on, the international community remains deeply concerned about the escalating violence and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
