Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has firmly dismissed speculations linking him to a vice presidential ambition, emphasizing that his sole focus remains on the development and welfare of the people of Katsina State.
Governor Radda made this clarification during a working visit to the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum in Katsina. Addressing the circulating campaign posters and messages suggesting he is eyeing a higher political office, Radda said such claims are baseless and not initiated by him.
“I have come across posters and messages insinuating that I am aspiring for another political office,” the governor stated. “Let me make it categorically clear—I contested to serve as the Governor of Katsina State based on your trust and mandate, and that remains my only focus. I am not sponsoring any campaign for another position, and I have no such ambition.”
Beyond clarifying his political stance, Governor Radda used the occasion to demonstrate his administration’s commitment to humanitarian support. At the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum event, he supervised the distribution of relief items, which included 600 bags of maize and ₦5,000 cash disbursements to each victim affected by recent banditry attacks in the region.
The governor lauded the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum for spearheading what he described as a compassion-driven intervention to assist victims in need. He commended their sense of solidarity and humanitarian effort, noting that such initiatives reflect the values that define a responsible and empathetic society.
Governor Radda also acknowledged the contributions of Hon. Aminu Dan Arewa, a member of the House of Representatives, who donated ₦6 million to further support the victims of the attacks.
“This day is a testament to the strength of our collective spirit,” the governor remarked. “It reflects our commitment to one another and our willingness to support our communities during difficult times. This is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs—leadership that acts with compassion and delivers with integrity, not one that only makes promises.”
Governor Radda concluded by reaffirming that his administration will continue to prioritize the security and welfare of the people of Katsina State, urging citizens to remain united and committed to the common good.
