Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as he marks his 60th birthday today, June 25, 2025.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori hailed Sanwo-Olu as an outstanding leader whose achievements and leadership style have left an indelible mark on Lagos State.
He described him as a consummate professional, visionary administrator, and a highly respected public servant whose leadership continues to drive meaningful progress across the state.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly celebrate a respected politician, skilled professional, experienced administrator, and brother governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on the occasion of his 60th birthday,” Oborevwori stated.
“Your pragmatic and forward-looking approach to governance has not only enhanced the development trajectory of Lagos State but has also positioned it as a model for effective leadership in Nigeria.”
The Delta Governor also prayed for Sanwo-Olu’s continued health and wisdom as he serves the people of Lagos and the nation at large. “We pray that God continues to protect and bless you with sound health, so you may offer even greater selfless service to the good people of Lagos and beyond,” he added.
Governor Oborevwori also extended warm felicitations to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UTM FLNG Limited, Mr. Julius Rone, as he clocks 51 today.
Describing Mr. Rone—fondly known as “The Gas King”—as a proud son of Delta State and a trailblazing entrepreneur, Oborevwori commended his immense contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth, particularly in the oil and gas industry.
He noted that Rone’s pioneering establishment of Nigeria’s first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility through UTM FLNG Limited stands as a monumental feat and a source of pride for the state and the country at large.
“On behalf of my family, the Government, and the people of Delta State, I extend warm congratulations to my brother and friend, Mr. Julius Rone, OFR, on the occasion of his 51st birthday,” the Governor said.
“Through diligence, resilience, and unwavering determination, you have carved a niche for yourself as one of Nigeria’s leading industrialists. Your strategic investments across various sectors have not only stimulated economic development but also created jobs and inspired hope in the Nigerian economy,” he added.
Governor Oborevwori further urged other indigenous entrepreneurs to emulate Rone’s visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to Delta and Nigeria’s socio-economic advancement.
“Your accomplishments remain a beacon of inspiration for others to follow. I join your family, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating a life marked by excellence, service, and patriotic dedication,” he said.
“It is my sincere prayer that you continue to excel in your business pursuits, enjoy robust health, and be blessed with many more years of impactful service to humanity and to God,” the Governor concluded.
