A heartbreaking incident occurred on Wednesday, June 18, in the Seedu Sabarumu area of Orita Mokola Junction, located within Saki Local Government Area of Oyo State, where a two-year-old girl tragically lost her life after falling into a well.
The incident came to the attention of authorities when a concerned resident rushed to the Saki Zonal Fire Station to report the emergency at precisely 1:43 p.m. In response to the distress call, personnel from the Oyo State Fire Services Agency were swiftly deployed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the fire and rescue team immediately initiated a retrieval operation using specialized equipment. Despite their rapid response and professional efforts, the young girl was unfortunately recovered lifeless from the well.
Confirming the development, the Oyo State Fire Services Agency stated that the agency’s Post-Incident Investigation Team has since launched an inquiry into the matter.
The aim is to uncover the circumstances that led to the tragic fall and to determine whether there were any lapses in safety or negligence that may have contributed to the fatal outcome.
