Barcelona have reportedly finalized personal terms with Athletic Club’s star winger Nico Williams, agreeing to a six-year contract, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The deal is said to include a salary of approximately €7-8 million per season, lower than previously rumored figures tied to a potential pre-agreement.
The Catalan giants are now focused on negotiating a transfer fee with Athletic Club, with Williams’ release clause set at around €62 million. Barcelona president Joan Laporta fueled speculation this week, hinting at an imminent signing during a speech to the club’s Senate.
“We’re on the verge of making an imminent signing. We’ll surely be able to sign another player who excites us a lot,” Laporta said, in what many believe was a clear nod to the 22-year-old Spanish international.
As talks progress, anticipation grows among Barcelona fans eager to see Williams join the squad, potentially bolstering their attacking options for the upcoming season.
