Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa Federal Constituency in the Oke Ogun region of Oyo State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This decision was reached during a strategic political meeting held on Tuesday in Ado Awaye, Iseyin Local Government Area. The meeting was chaired by the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, and witnessed the presence of prominent party leaders and representatives from across the four local government areas.
The APC chieftains lauded President Tinubu for his administration’s significant attention to the long-neglected Oke Ogun zone, particularly commending him for the recent establishment of the Federal University in Okeho—the first federal tertiary institution in the entire ten local government areas of Oke Ogun.
“We are deeply grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this landmark project. The establishment of the Federal University, Okeho, is a major step forward for our region, which had been consistently overlooked by successive federal governments,” the leaders declared.
In a joint statement, the stakeholders expressed their full support for President Tinubu’s re-election, citing his commitment to national development across all geopolitical zones, including remote and rural areas like Oke Ogun.
“We have endorsed him for a second term because of his inclusive governance style and his resolve to develop all parts of Nigeria concurrently. Oke Ogun, which had remained forgotten for decades, is now witnessing federal presence under Tinubu’s leadership,” the statement read.
They also highlighted key achievements of the Tinubu administration, including steps to restructure Nigeria’s foreign debt, stabilize the economy, strengthen the naira, and increase revenue allocations to states and local governments.
The group also applauded efforts to curb the menace of herders’ invasions on farmlands, reduce incidents of farmer killings and assaults, and combat insurgency and kidnapping across the nation.
Special commendations were extended to notable Oke Ogun indigenes such as Professor Segun Gbadegesin, Senator Fatai Buhari, and Barrister Ahmed Raji for their instrumental roles in facilitating the establishment of the new university.
Furthermore, the APC leaders acknowledged the ongoing wave of defections from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in the Oke Ogun region. According to them, this growing trend is a direct reflection of the increasing popularity and approval of President Tinubu’s performance in office.
They also took a moment to appeal to political saboteurs and sponsors of unrest to put the national interest above all else and allow President Tinubu to carry out his administration’s mandate without disruption.
Looking ahead, the APC chieftains resolved to intensify mobilization efforts in support of Tinubu’s second-term bid. As part of their strategy, they announced that a larger convergence of party faithful and stakeholders from all ten local government areas in Oke Ogun would be held in Igboho on June 30.
This upcoming gathering, also to be chaired by Chief Iyiola Oladokun, will bring together key figures such as party chairmen and secretaries, youth and women leaders, serving and former federal and state legislators, former Chiefs of Staff, past and current commissioners, heads of service, board chairpersons, and local government executives.
The stakeholders pledged to use the occasion as a major platform to rally wider support for President Tinubu and to consolidate APC’s political dominance in the Oke Ogun region ahead of the 2027 elections.
