We were neither consulted nor involved in the so-called endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term. Whether such endorsement was issued by some ward chairmen or occurred during the Delta North APC Stakeholders Meeting, it holds no weight and does not reflect the position of the APC at the local government level

The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Chairmen in Delta North Senatorial District has firmly dissociated itself from a purported endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections. Senator Nwoko currently represents Delta North in the National Assembly.

In a strongly worded statement, the Forum emphasized that the alleged endorsement did not originate from any legitimate or recognized structure within the APC at the local government level. The chairmen collectively disavowed the move, describing it as unauthorised and not reflective of the party’s official stance in the senatorial district.

The statement, jointly signed by seven local government APC chairmen, included Hon. Nobert Akachukwu Sochukwudinma (Aniocha South), Hon. Hilary Fada Ibude (Ika South), Hon. Austin C. Nnabuife (JP) (Oshimili North), Dada Okolo (Oshimili South), Chief Oputa Knis (Ndokwa East), Comrade Dike Onah (Ndokwa West), and Comrade Churchill Ugoena Edem (Ukwuani).

They urged party faithful and the general public to disregard any claims of endorsement made during the Delta North APC Stakeholders’ Meeting or by any ward-level officials, reiterating that such moves lack legitimacy and contravene the principles of internal democracy upheld by the party.

According to the Forum, the APC remains a party governed by due process, and anyone aspiring to contest elective positions—be it senatorial, House of Representatives, or State Assembly seats—must work towards building the party from the grassroots and be prepared to participate in transparent, credible, and competitive primaries.

In a show of loyalty, the Forum reaffirmed its unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, endorsing both leaders for re-election in 2027. They expressed confidence in the leadership of both men and pledged the full support of Delta North APC structures toward ensuring their continued success.

Additionally, the Forum called on the Deputy Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sir Monday Onyeme—who is currently the highest-ranking political officeholder from Delta North—to assume a unifying leadership role within the APC in the senatorial district. They urged him to guide the party into the 2027 elections with unity, discipline, and strategic coordination.

The statement read in part: “We, the undersigned local government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North Senatorial District, categorically declare that our valid and collective endorsements are solely for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

“We were neither consulted nor involved in the so-called endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term. Whether such endorsement was issued by some ward chairmen or occurred during the Delta North APC Stakeholders Meeting, it holds no weight and does not reflect the position of the APC at the local government level.

The APC leaders urged party members and the general public to disregard unauthorized political endorsements, assuring that the party in Delta North remains focused, disciplined, and committed to winning across all levels in 2027.
