The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that it is in the final stages of preparing emergency evacuation plans for Nigerian nationals currently stranded in Israel and Iran due to the recent escalation of hostilities between the two countries.
In a statement issued late Tuesday night, Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, disclosed that Nigerian embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran are actively engaging with affected citizens. Diplomatic staff are working diligently to coordinate efforts aimed at ensuring the safe return of Nigerians caught in the conflict zones.
The Ministry advised all Nigerians in the affected regions to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to local security guidelines. Citizens are also urged to register with the nearest Nigerian embassy or mission to receive timely updates and instructions on evacuation procedures.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform that following the escalation of the crisis between the State of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Federal Government is finalising arrangements for the emergency evacuation of stranded Nigerians in both countries,” the statement read.
The Ministry commended the efforts of its diplomatic missions in Tel Aviv and Tehran, praising their commitment and swift response in reaching out to Nigerian communities during this challenging period. It assured the general public that the Federal Government remains firmly dedicated to the safety and well-being of all Nigerians, both within and outside the country.
Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized that the government is working in collaboration with relevant international organizations and local authorities to facilitate a secure and efficient evacuation process.

It urged all parties involved to pursue peaceful dialogue, comply with international humanitarian laws, and prioritize the protection of civilian lives.
