The Tinubu Media Force (TMF) has fired back at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over its recent criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s handling of national security, describing the allegations as unfounded, politically driven, and a distortion of reality.

The PDP, in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, had expressed outrage over what it described as the Federal Government’s passive response to a wave of deadly attacks sweeping across parts of the country. The party claimed that terrorists and bandits were operating freely, killing citizens in coordinated assaults, while the Tinubu-led administration appeared disengaged and indifferent.

“It’s horrifying to witness innocent Nigerians butchered in places like Benue while the government carries on as if everything is normal,” the PDP stated, accusing the President of treating the worsening insecurity with indifference.

Responding swiftly, TMF released a counter-statement on Monday night, titled “Telling the Truth About Tinubu’s Security Initiatives”, through its National Coordinator, Gbenga Abiola. The group insisted that President Tinubu has not only treated national security with urgency but has also introduced reforms designed to bring lasting solutions to the crisis.

According to the TMF, the administration has rolled out several bold initiatives, including constitutional amendments to restructure Nigeria’s security framework and a comprehensive national security plan that integrates multiple agencies. The group emphasized that President Tinubu meets regularly with security chiefs, pushing for coordinated action and sustainable peace efforts.

Addressing the recent killings in Benue State, TMF noted that the President took immediate action by deploying special forces to the affected areas. He also ordered security agencies to arrest and prosecute all those involved in the violence, regardless of their affiliations.

The group revealed that President Tinubu instructed Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, to convene peace talks among the warring groups. In a further show of concern, the President reportedly paused his official duties to personally extend condolences to families of the victims. Governor Alia, TMF added, has since acknowledged and praised the President’s quick response and hands-on involvement in managing the crisis.

TMF condemned the PDP’s remarks as reckless and opportunistic, accusing the opposition of politicizing human tragedy. “Rather than offer constructive input, they are exploiting grief for cheap political points,” the statement read.

Reaffirming Tinubu’s commitment to securing lives and property, the group urged Nigerians to see through what it called “orchestrated falsehoods” and to stay united behind the President’s efforts. “What’s unfolding under President Tinubu is not neglect, but a deliberate and strategic approach to fixing deep-rooted problems,” TMF concluded.
