Tottenham Hotspur have finalized the permanent transfer of French forward Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich for a reported £30m.

The 20-year-old, currently with France at the European Under-21 Championship, has signed a six-year contract with Spurs, effective after his loan spell ends on June 30.

Tel joined Tottenham on loan in January with an initial £45m option to buy, but the club successfully negotiated a lower fee. During his loan stint, he made 20 appearances, scoring three goals, and was an unused substitute in Spurs’ Europa League final triumph over Manchester United.

In other news, Tottenham are eyeing Brentford’s 25-year-old forward Bryan Mbeumo, who is also on Manchester United’s radar. The interest comes as Spurs appointed former Brentford manager Thomas Frank as their new head coach on Thursday.

More details on Tottenham’s transfer activities are expected as the summer window progresses.
