The North-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made during a high-level APC North-East Consultative Meeting held on Sunday in Gombe, the capital of Gombe State. The gathering drew prominent party stakeholders from across the region, including state governors, party executives, and national officers.
Leading the charge of endorsement were the governors of Borno, Yobe, and Gombe States—Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, Mai Mala Buni, and Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, respectively. They were joined by thousands of APC supporters and top-ranking party figures in affirming their unreserved backing of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
Addressing the attendees, Governor Zulum commended the Tinubu administration for what he described as its transformative impact over the last two years. He highlighted key achievements in areas such as healthcare delivery, education reforms, youth and women empowerment, internal revenue generation, and initiatives aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.
According to the forum, the Tinubu-Shettima leadership, guided by the “Renewed Hope Agenda,” has brought about meaningful progress and a sense of direction to national governance. The stakeholders argued that, despite economic and security challenges inherited by the administration, President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima have made commendable strides in stabilizing the nation and laying a foundation for long-term prosperity.
They called on Nigerians across all regions to unite behind the Tinubu-Shettima administration, which they described as a symbol of hope, inclusivity, and progress for the country.
Also present at the meeting were several key national party figures, including the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and the Deputy National Chairman (North), Dr. Ali Bukar Dalori, both of whom echoed the sentiments of the North-East leaders regarding the administration’s performance and future potential.
The consultative meeting concluded with a resounding resolution to not only support but actively mobilize grassroots backing for the Tinubu-Shettima 2027 presidential ticket across the North-East geopolitical zone.
