Dr. Olatunji Alausa, Minister of State for Education, has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for conferring on him the prestigious national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
Dr. Alausa was among the notable Nigerians recognised during the Democracy Day celebrations in Abuja, an event that celebrated excellence, service, and national impact across various sectors.
Dr. Alausa described the honour as both personally meaningful and a clear affirmation of the Federal Government’s confidence in the Ministry’s commitment to overhauling and revitalising Nigeria’s education landscape.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the Minister said the award reflects the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises education, digital inclusion, and youth development.
Dr. Alausa praised President Tinubu’s visionary leadership and highlighted the administration’s impactful reforms in the education sector. He specifically commended the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which he described as a groundbreaking initiative designed to make tertiary education more accessible to young Nigerians.
Dr. Alausa also applauded the government’s strategic investment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), stating that it is equipping Nigerian youth with practical, future-oriented skills to compete globally and drive local economic growth.
Dr. Alausa further lauded the administration’s nationwide fibre optic cable rollout project, which he believes will transform digital learning, reduce disparities in access to online resources, and better prepare Nigerian students for a tech-driven future.
Dr. Alausa reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to policies and programs that enhance learning outcomes, encourage innovation, and ensure that quality education is within the reach of every Nigerian child.
