A formidable women’s group operating under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, known as the Iron Ladies, has declared its full endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office come 2027.
The group made this known on Thursday during a mobilization event held at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office in Osogbo, the state capital.
Speaking at the gathering, the State Coordinator of the group, Deaconess Adesola Ayangbile, announced that the Iron Ladies have already commenced a grassroots, door-to-door campaign aimed at securing widespread support for the APC in both the 2026 gubernatorial election and the 2027 general elections. She revealed that the group is targeting no fewer than one million votes across Osun State as part of their strategic mobilisation drive.
Deaconess Ayangbile further stated that the group had unanimously agreed to back the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, for the Osun State governorship seat—should he emerge as the APC’s flag bearer in the 2026 polls.
“Our endorsement of Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji is not accidental; it stems from both personal and collective conviction based on his exemplary record in both private enterprise and public service,” she noted. “His significant contributions to the development of Osun State, through various leadership roles, have earned him our trust and admiration.”
She also used the opportunity to reaffirm the group’s loyalty to President Tinubu, praising his administration for what she described as visionary leadership, pragmatic reforms, and consistent strides under the Renewed Hope Agenda. According to her, the President has shown unwavering commitment to good governance over the past two years.
Ayangbile called on members of the group to remain resolute and dedicated to the cause, urging them to intensify efforts in mobilising support for the party and ensuring electoral victory for both Tinubu in 2027 and Oyebamiji in 2026.
Adding his voice to the event, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, lauded the women for their unwavering dedication to the party. He described the APC women as the “political lifeblood” of the state and a critical force behind the party’s sustained relevance and success.
