Tension at Murtala Muhammed International Airport as Senator Oshiomhole Allegedly Causes Commotion Over Missed Flight
A dramatic scene unfolded on June 11 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, when Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State and current representative of Edo North, was reportedly involved in a confrontation with airport staff after missing his flight to Abuja.
According to multiple eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred at the Zulu Terminal of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), where Senator Oshiomhole allegedly arrived after the boarding process had already closed.
Upon being informed that he had missed his flight, the senator is said to have reacted angrily, engaging airline staff in a heated exchange.
A video of the altercation, which has since gone viral on social media, shows Senator Oshiomhole exchanging words with airport personnel. Witnesses allege that he attempted to prevent other passengers from entering the departure hall by blocking the terminal entrance, further escalating the situation.
Airport staff claim that the senator requested the airline to delay the flight to accommodate him, a request which the airline reportedly refused. In response, Oshiomhole allegedly demanded the temporary closure of the terminal, an action that caused significant disruption and drew the attention of bystanders.
