NNL to Honor April/May 2025 Excellence Award Winners in Abuja

The Nigeria National League (NNL), in partnership with Prostar Sports and Sportlight Hub, will host its combined Monthly Excellence Awards for April and May 2025 on Wednesday, June 18, at the West Point Hotel, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja.

The ceremony, set to commence at 11:00 a.m., will celebrate outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s second-tier football league, recognizing players, coaches, and teams who have demonstrated exceptional skill and sportsmanship over the two-month period.

The awards, a cornerstone of the NNL’s commitment to fostering talent and professionalism, highlight the league’s role in nurturing Nigeria’s football ecosystem. Organizers emphasized that the event serves as a platform to promote excellence, reward dedication, and inspire higher standards across the domestic league.

The ceremony is expected to draw officials from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), NNL, Prostar Sports, club representatives, and key football stakeholders

This edition’s winners showcase a diverse range of talent. Warri Wolves FC emerged as a standout, securing two prestigious awards: Coach Napoleon Aluma earned Best Coach, while Efevwerha Joke was named Best Goalkeeper.

Other notable recipients include Gukut M. Chindi of Edel FC, who claimed the Highest Goal Scorer title, and Valentine Ugwu of Solution FC, honored as the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Sokoto United FC was recognized as the Best Behaved Team, reflecting their exemplary conduct, while Shamasu Mohammed of Barau FC won Goal of the Month for a remarkable strike.

The NNL Monthly Awards continue to gain traction as a vital initiative to elevate Nigeria’s domestic football.
