Three years after the release of his ninth publication, the Honourable Commissioner for Information in Oyo State, Prince Dotun Oyelade, is set to unveil his latest literary work titled “Know Oyo State.”

The highly anticipated book launch is scheduled for June 25 and will be hosted by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

In a statement issued by the author on June 10, Prince Oyelade described the book as a meticulously researched and richly detailed guide to Oyo State. It is designed to serve as both a reference material and an educational resource for readers seeking in-depth knowledge about the state.

“Know Oyo State” captures the essence of the state’s identity — encompassing its historical evolution, cultural heritage, geographical features, landmark achievements, notable personalities, and key institutions. The book aims to inform, educate, and inspire pride in the state’s legacy among citizens and visitors alike.

Rich in details and educational value, the book can rightly be described as the “Encyclopaedia on Oyo State.”

According to Oyelade, “The book will be publicly presented on Wednesday, 25th June, 2025, at the Emeritus Prof. Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, opposite UCH, Ibadan, by 10am.

“The Chief Host is His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, while the Special Guests are Chief Adebayo Adelabu (Minister of Power, Federal Republic of Nigeria), Chief Zacchaeus Adedeji (Executive Chairman, FIRS) and Alhaji Ahmed Raji SAN (Baba Adinni of Oke-Ogun, Oyo State).

“Others are the Special Guests of Honour; Senator Rashidi Ladoja (Former Governor of Oyo State) and Maj. Gen. Oladayo Popoola (Former Military Governor of Oyo State).

“All Senators, House of Representatives and State Assembly Members in Oyo State will also grace the occasion.
