Chief Bibopere Ajube, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gallery Security Services Limited, has affirmed the company’s commitment to collaborating closely with conventional security agencies to enhance safety on the waterways of Ondo State.
Speaking at the company’s operational headquarters in Okaranpu, Ese Odo Local Government Area, Chief Ajube emphasized the vital role his security outfit plays in safeguarding the region’s maritime domain.
Addressing over 1,000 trained operatives during a weekend drill exercise, which served as preparation for the upcoming monitoring operations along the state’s waterways and coastline, Chief Ajube highlighted the urgency of maintaining heightened vigilance. “Our primary task now is to remain alert at all times. Whenever we detect any suspicious or unusual activity within our territory, we are mandated to respond swiftly and decisively,” he said.
He elaborated on the scope of their operations, noting that the protection of market women, passengers, and other legitimate users of the waterways remains a top priority. “We are here to ensure that those engaged in lawful and peaceful business ventures, especially market women who depend on the waterways for their livelihoods, are shielded from any harm,” Ajube stated.
Additionally, he underscored the importance of securing the national assets located within their jurisdiction, particularly oil and gas installations. “Safeguarding these strategic installations aligns perfectly with the objectives of the Renewed Hope administration led by President Bola Tinubu,” he added.
The security exercise was a proactive measure by Gallery Security Services Limited to prepare for comprehensive surveillance and protection of Ondo State’s maritime borders. Chief Ajube warned that criminal elements—including sea pirates, kidnappers, and crude oil thieves—would be met with firm resistance.
“Our commitment to the safety of the waterways is unwavering. We are working hand-in-hand with the Nigerian Navy and other security agencies to ensure that these areas remain secure and free from illegal activities,” he affirmed.
He further stressed the unique advantage Gallery Security Services holds due to its deep local knowledge and experience. “Having operated in this region since 2012, we possess an intimate understanding of every corner of Ondo State’s waterways and coastline. This local expertise empowers us to play a critical role in maintaining security,” Ajube explained. He also made it clear that crude oil theft in the high seas would not be tolerated.
“There have been reports of crude oil siphoning offshore, but with the combined efforts of Gallery Security, Sea Max, and the Nigerian Navy, we are determined to put an end to such acts,” he declared.
In a stern warning to those who might harbor criminals or individuals with questionable intentions, Ajube likened such people to dangerous snakes that pose significant threats when allowed inside. He urged communities and stakeholders to be vigilant and reject any form of complicity with criminals to maintain peace and security in the region.
Through these efforts, Gallery Security Services Limited demonstrates its steadfast dedication to protecting Ondo State’s waterways, its people, and critical national resources, ensuring a safer environment for all legitimate users and contributing meaningfully to national security objectives.
