As part of activities commemorating the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a number of high-profile visitors at his private residence in Lagos on Saturday.
Among the notable guests were former Delta State Governor James Ibori and the current Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu.
Also in attendance were renowned industrialist Chief Razak Okoya, his wife Shade Okoya, and their son, who joined the president in celebrating the Islamic festival. The visit formed part of a series of courtesy calls and engagements the president has hosted since his arrival in Lagos.
President Tinubu has been in Lagos since May 27, using the opportunity to oversee a number of state and regional events. Notably, during his stay, he took part in the 50th anniversary celebration of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), reaffirming Nigeria’s pivotal role in regional integration and cooperation.
In addition, he commissioned multiple development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
Following the conclusion of the Sallah festivities, the president is scheduled to return to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to resume official duties at the seat of government.
In his special Eid-el-Kabir message to Nigerians, President Tinubu called on the nation to remain steadfast in prayer for peace, stability, and national cohesion. He emphasized the importance of unity and collective progress, particularly during challenging times.
The president also acknowledged the sacrifices made by citizens over the past year, noting that his administration remains deeply committed to protecting the physical, social, and economic welfare of all Nigerians.
He reassured the public that deliberate efforts are underway to establish a robust and enduring foundation for long-term national development.
