The Flying Eagles, Nigeria’s U20 national football team, began their training camp on Tuesday in preparation for the inaugural WAFU A and B U20 Nations Cup Invitational Tournament, set for June 15-30, 2025, in Ghana.
The regional competition will see 16 West African nations vie for the title, with Nigeria tipped as a strong contender. The tournament provides a crucial platform for the Flying Eagles to gain competitive experience and refine tactics ahead of the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, for which Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, and Morocco have already qualified.
The team officially resumed on Monday, with officials emphasizing the Ghana tournament’s role in evaluating player readiness, fostering team unity, and honing strategies for global competition.
