Oyo State’s representatives have made a strong showing at the Milo Western Conference Secondary School Basketball Championship, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams securing spots in the finals.
In the boys’ category, God’s Blessing Comprehensive College, Ibadan, clinched a thrilling 29-26 victory over their rivals from Ondo State. Coached by Kolapo Aminu, the team fought hard to earn their place in the championship game.
Meanwhile, in the girls’ category, Onireke High School, Ibadan, advanced to the final despite a loss to their Lagos counterparts. The Oyo girls secured their spot after the Lagos team was disqualified for fielding unregistered players.
The championship finals are set for Tuesday, June 3, 2025. God’s Blessing Comprehensive College will face off against a strong Lagos team, while Onireke High School will take on their opponents from Osun State in what promises to be an exciting showdown.
