The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde announced a new wave of appointments aimed at reinforcing the effectiveness and capacity of the state’s governance structures. The appointments, which take immediate effect, reflect the governor’s commitment to continuity, competence, and institutional excellence.
In a major development, Alhaji Aderibigbe Kamoru Abiodun has been reappointed as Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, reaffirming the administration’s confidence in his leadership and performance during his previous tenure.
Also returning to the Civil Service Commission as full-time members are Alhaji Kolajo Isiaq Adewale and Mr. Olutoyin Adedeji Akanmu, both of whom have demonstrated significant commitment and value in their service to the state.
In the same vein, Governor Makinde has approved the appointment of Pastor Taiwo Oluwagbemiro A. and Mr. Oladimeji Oladapo as part-time members of the Civil Service Commission, broadening the commission’s diversity and strategic oversight capacity.
Beyond the Civil Service Commission, the governor has made new appointments to the Oyo State Advisory Council. Among the appointees are Alhaji Rasaki Gbadegesin, a former Deputy Chief of Staff during the administration of late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, and Pastor Akinade Alamu, who recently served as the Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission. Both individuals bring extensive administrative experience and institutional knowledge to their new roles.
The details of these appointments were contained in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, while an official statement confirming the appointments was released by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, dated June 2, 2025.
