Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended three individuals suspected to be members of a notorious cult group during a strategic raid in the Owode-Ikorodu area of the state.

The suspects — Adenuga Tosin, Jesutofunmi Ezekiel, and Adeniji Juwon — were arrested following a credible tip-off, which prompted an intelligence-led operation carried out by one of the Command’s specialized tactical units.

During the raid, the police recovered a locally fabricated pistol along with six live cartridges from the suspects. Preliminary investigations suggest that the three individuals are active members of a cult group known for its involvement in violent criminal activities across various parts of Lagos State.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects are also implicated in the trafficking and distribution of illegal firearms — a serious offence that poses a grave threat to public safety and security.

He further disclosed that efforts are currently underway to apprehend other members of the group who are still at large. The arrested suspects will face prosecution upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

In response to the arrests, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the Command’s firm stance against cultism and all forms of related criminal activities.

“The Lagos State Police Command remains unwavering in its dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of all residents. We urge members of the public to collaborate with us by providing credible and actionable intelligence,” CP Jimoh affirmed.
