Demonstrating remarkable progress in the fight against terrorism, the Nigerian Army has confirmed the neutralization of at least sixty terrorists in the northern part of the country. The operation was executed by troops under Operation Hadin Kai, a special military initiative focused on combating insurgency in Nigeria’s North East region.

According to a statement released by the Army Headquarters on its official Facebook page on Friday, May 30, the offensive took place in the early hours of the morning in Bita, a locality in Borno State. The army described the operation as “decisive and coordinated,” involving both land and air components to maximize impact and effectiveness.

“In a decisive and coordinated operation, gallant troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched a simultaneous land and air assault on terrorist positions in Bita, Borno State, in the early hours of today,” the statement read. “The intense battle resulted in the neutralization of at least 60 terrorists.”

This victory is part of a broader effort by the Nigerian military to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace in the region, which has been plagued by the violent activities of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Earlier in the week, another successful operation was conducted by troops in New Marte, located within Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. During that engagement, dozens of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters were reportedly killed, dealing a further blow to the operational strength of these extremist groups.

However, the Nigerian Army also confirmed that the success came at a cost. During the encounter in New Marte, two soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice, paying the supreme price in defense of the nation. Their bravery and commitment have been lauded as a testament to the dedication and courage of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

These successive victories underscore the increasing effectiveness of Operation Hadin Kai and highlight the continued resolve of the Nigerian military to eliminate the threat posed by insurgents and restore stability to affected regions.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum of these operations until the total defeat of terrorism in the country is achieved.
