Arsenal are on the verge of securing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, with the Spanish international scheduled for a medical to finalize his £51m transfer to the Emirates.

The deal hinges on Zubimendi passing his medical, which Arsenal are arranging. Both clubs are relaxed about the timeline, as payment structures have been agreed, but there is a push to complete formalities quickly.
Zubimendi, who has a £51m release clause, has been a long-term target for Arsenal, who have pursued the midfielder for months. Once the medical is cleared, Arsenal are expected to officially announce his arrival.
In addition to Zubimendi, Arsenal are targeting a new centre-forward, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres among their top choices.
