Trump Expresses Disapproval of Putin’s Actions in Ukraine

"I'm not happy with what Putin is doing. He's killing a lot of people, and I don't know what the hell happened to Putin. I've known him a long time. Always gotten along with him, but he's sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don't like it at all."

President Donald Trump has voiced his discontent with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s actions in Ukraine, stating he doesn’t know “what the hell happened” to Putin. Despite their long-standing relationship, Trump expressed frustration with Putin’s decision to launch a large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 people, including children.

“We’re in the middle of talking, and he’s shooting rockets into Kyiv and other cities,” Trump said, expressing surprise at Putin’s actions, especially considering their recent phone conversation. Trump emphasized his disapproval, saying, “I’m not happy with what Putin is doing. He’s killing a lot of people, and I don’t know what the hell happened to Putin. I’ve known him a long time. Always gotten along with him, but he’s sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don’t like it at all.”

The attack drew condemnation from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who urged the international community to take action, stating, “America’s silence, and the silence of others in the world, only encourages Putin.” Trump, however, has taken a step towards addressing the situation, announcing plans to impose additional sanctions on Russia.

Trump’s stance on Putin’s actions has been firm, as evident from his statement, “I don’t like what Putin is doing, not even a little bit. He’s killing people. And something happened to this guy, and I don’t like it.” In an effort to broker peace, Trump recently spoke with Putin, Zelensky, and other European allies, announcing that “Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War.” Conditions for the ceasefire will be negotiated between the two parties, as they are best aware of the negotiation details.
