Marco Bezzecchi has clinched a thrilling victory at the British MotoGP, marking Aprilia’s first win of the 2025 season. The Italian rider triumphed in a chaotic race that was initially red-flagged due to an oil spill, which saw several riders crash or retire while in the lead, including pole-sitter Fabio Quartararo.

The race was restarted, and Quartararo took the lead, only to be forced into retirement on lap 12 due to a technical issue with his bike. Bezzecchi seized the opportunity, moving up the ranks to take the top spot. Johann Zarco finished second for LCR Honda, while Ducati’s Marc Marquez narrowly pipped Franco Morbidelli to take third place.

“It’s amazing. It has been a really tough time for me in this past month. … Aprilia trusted in me, and we worked really hard,” Bezzecchi said, praising his team’s efforts. “The team made a wonderful job. … I was waiting for a day like this since my last win.”

Marc Marquez, who now leads the world championship by 24 points, expressed frustration, saying, “Today we were lucky because I made a mistake.” Zarco, meanwhile, revealed that when Quartararo’s bike failed, “I even thought about a victory,” adding that he’s thrilled with his second-place finish.
