Novak Djokovic edged closer to a historic milestone, securing a hard-fought 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1 victory over Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the Geneva Open semi-finals on Friday, positioning him one win away from his 100th ATP Tour-level singles title. The 24-time Grand Slam champion aims to join Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer as the only men in the Open era to reach this elite mark.

The 38-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday, described the match as his toughest of the tournament. Despite a challenging clay season with early exits in Madrid and Monte Carlo, Djokovic’s resilience shone through as he outlasted Norrie in a gripping three-set battle. He now faces Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in Saturday’s final, seeking his first title since winning Olympic gold in Paris last summer.

A victory in Geneva’s ATP 250 event could provide the perfect momentum for Djokovic as he heads to Roland Garros, where he begins his quest for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title against American Mackenzie McDonald on Sunday.
