NNPC Ltd Announces Scheduled Maintenance Shutdown at Port Harcourt Refining Company Starting May 24, 2025
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has officially announced that the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) will undergo a planned maintenance shutdown beginning May 24, 2025. This announcement was made public on Saturday through a statement issued by the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Femi Soneye.
The scheduled shutdown is part of a comprehensive maintenance and sustainability assessment program designed to enhance the operational efficiency, safety, and long-term reliability of the refinery. NNPC Ltd emphasized that this initiative aligns with its broader commitment to improving Nigeria’s refining capacity and ensuring the continued delivery of energy resources to meet national demands.
“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) wishes to inform the general public that the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) will be shut down for a planned maintenance and sustainability assessment, starting May 24, 2025,” the statement said.
To ensure that the process is smooth, effective, and transparent, NNPC Ltd is actively collaborating with all relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and other industry partners.
