The semi-finals of the 2025 President Federation Cup (men’s competition) are set to ignite football fever on Wednesday, May 21, as former champions Enugu Rangers face off against Kwara United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, while rising stars Ikorodu City clash with surprise contenders Abakaliki FC at Bwari Stadium in Abuja. Both matches kick off at 4:00 PM.
Rangers, a powerhouse in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), secured their spot by defeating Kano Pillars, Heartland FC, Bendel Insurance, and Plateau United in earlier rounds. Kwara United, equally determined, advanced by overcoming Cynosure, Gombe United, Solution FC, and Akwa United.
In the other semi-final, Abakaliki FC, a revelation this season, earned their place by toppling Yobe Desert Stars, Katsina United, Enyimba FC, and Nasarawa United. Ikorodu City, meanwhile, progressed with a penalty shootout win over Sunshine Stars U19, followed by victories against Crown FC, Beyond Limits FC, and Wikki Tourists.
The women’s semi-finals will follow on Saturday, May 24, with Rivers Angels facing Ibom Angels in Aba and Edo Queens taking on Nasarawa Amazons in Ayingba, both at 1:00 PM.
