Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen etched his name into the club’s history books on Sunday, scoring in a 3-0 victory over Kayserispor at Rams Park, securing the Turkish Super Lig title for the hosts.
The Nigerian international’s 26th-minute goal marked his 25th in 29 league appearances this season, solidifying his lead in the race for the Super Lig Golden Boot.
According to Opta, Osimhen becomes only the third foreign player in Galatasaray’s history to score 25 goals in a single Super Lig season, joining Bafetimbi Gomis (2017-18) and Mauro Icardi (2023-24). The 26-year-old Napoli loanee now leads the league’s scoring charts with 25 goals, four ahead of Krzysztof Piątek’s 21.
Osimhen’s remarkable season includes 36 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray. The win over Kayserispor, coupled with an eight-point lead over second-placed Fenerbahçe, ensured Galatasaray’s title triumph with two games to spare. Galatasaray sit atop the table with 89 points, while Fenerbahçe trail with 81.
The victory sparked jubilant celebrations at Rams Park as Galatasaray secured their latest Super Lig crown in front of their passionate home supporters.
