NSF: Ogun Governor Unveils Cash Rewards for Athletes

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced cash rewards to honor athletes representing the state at the Gateway Games 2024, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to fostering excellence in sports.

In a statement released today, Governor Abiodun revealed that all accredited athletes currently in camp will receive ₦50,000 each within 24 hours as a token of appreciation for their dedication. “We are proud of every athlete representing Ogun State. They embody excellence, and their hard work will not go unnoticed,” he said.

To spur exceptional performances, the governor also introduced a reward structure for medalists: ₦2.5 million for gold, ₦1.5 million for silver, and ₦1 million for bronze.

The announcement has sparked enthusiasm within the sports community, with expectations high for Team Ogun to shine at the festival.

Governor Abiodun emphasized his administration’s commitment to keeping promises and empowering young talent, positioning the rewards as a catalyst for outstanding achievements.
