Bayelsa Queens have clinched the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six title, amassing 10 points to finish ahead of Nasarawa Amazons with a commanding 4-1 victory over Naija Ratels on Saturday.

Bayelsa State’s Commissioner for Sports Development, Honourable Daniel Igali, congratulated the team in a personally signed message, praising their exceptional skill, teamwork, and resilience. “This inspiring victory not only showcases the talent of Bayelsa Queens but also solidifies their position as a top contender to represent Nigeria at the CAF Women’s Champions League,” Igali stated.

He commended the players, coaching staff, and management for their dedication, attributing the triumph to the steadfast support of Governor Senator Douye Diri and Deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. “This remarkable victory is a testament to their leadership,” Igali said, dedicating the trophy to the state’s leadership.

Highlighting the significance of the win, Igali noted that Bayelsa Queens hold the highest finish among Nigerian women’s clubs at the continental level. “This success is a powerful example of what can be achieved with hard work, dedication, and passion,” he added.
