Ganduje, Barau Jibrin Lead High-Level APC Delegation on Condolence and Sympathy Visits Across Kano
In a demonstration of solidarity and empathy, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, alongside the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, on Wednesday, embarked on a series of condolence and sympathy visits across key areas of Kano State. The high-profile visits were aimed at commiserating with families of deceased party stalwarts and individuals currently battling health challenges.
One of the most notable stops was the residence of Murtala Sule Garo, the APC deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections. Dr. Ganduje and Senator Barau Jibrin paid a heartfelt condolence visit to him over the death of his elder brother, the late Babangida Sule Garo. The delegation visited the family compound located at Gidan Kankara, an area steeped in history in the ancient city of Kano.
During the visit, the two political leaders expressed deep sorrow over the loss, consoling Sule Garo and other grieving family members. In a solemn atmosphere, they offered prayers for the repose of the deceased soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannatul Firdaus (the highest level of paradise) and bestow strength and fortitude upon the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
The delegation also visited the residence of one of Kano’s most respected Islamic scholars, Sheikh Muhammad AbdulWahab, who has been ailing for a considerable period. The Sheikh recently returned from a medical trip abroad and has since been unable to continue his regular religious teachings and sermons that he is widely known for.
Dr. Ganduje and Senator Jibrin, during their visit, expressed their sympathy and concern over the cleric’s health condition. They offered prayers for his complete and speedy recovery and acknowledged his invaluable contributions to Islamic education and the moral upbringing of the society.
In response, Sheikh AbdulWahab expressed profound gratitude to the APC leaders for their visit and kind words. He prayed for their success and also supplicated for sustained peace, unity, and development in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
Accompanied by several top federal government officials, including the APC Chairman in Kano State, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, the delegation further extended their visits to other key areas within the metropolis.
These included Koki, Gwammaja, Na’ibawa, and Kofar Mazugal — communities where they met with families who had recently lost loved ones or were dealing with significant health challenges.
At each location, the delegation delivered messages of compassion, solidarity, and hope, reinforcing the party’s commitment to standing by its members and the general populace in times of need. The visits also served to strengthen ties between the party leadership and grassroots stakeholders.
After the series of visits, the delegation departed back to Abuja the same day, having fulfilled their mission of compassion and communal responsibility.
