Arokodare Claims 2025 Ebony Shoe Award

KRC Genk’s star forward, Tolu Arokodare, has been named the 2025 Ebony Shoe Award winner, recognizing him as the standout African or African-descended player in the Belgian Pro League for the 2024/25 season.

The 24-year-old Nigerian striker earned the prestigious honor for his remarkable contributions to Genk, scoring an impressive 22 goals and providing seven assists in the current campaign. Arokodare outshone strong contenders, including Noah Sidiki and Promise David of Union St. Gilloise, his Genk teammate Zakaria El Ouahdi, and fellow Nigerian Raphael Onyedika.

The Ebony Shoe Award, a celebrated accolade in Belgian football, has previously been won by Nigerian football legends such as Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Celestine Babayaro, and Godwin Okpara.
