The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has announced the suspension of Muhammad Shehu Koko, a former member of the House of Representatives representing Koko/Maiyama Federal Constituency, along with nine other party officials in Koko Local Government Area.
The suspended officials include Muhammad Danyado, the APC Vice Chairman of Koko LGA; Biyaminu Muhammad, the Secretary; and Talatu Zauro, the Women Leader. Others affected by the suspension include the Youth Leader, Financial Secretary, Welfare Secretary, and several additional local party officials.
A suspension letter obtained by Channels Television cited allegations of anti-party activities, disloyalty, and harassment of party executives as reasons for the disciplinary action.
The letter was co-signed by Muhammad Maibarga, the APC Chairman in Koko LGA; Sirajo Usman Koko, the Local Government Executive Chairman; and 14 other key stakeholders within the party.
While the former lawmaker has not officially responded to the development, sources close to him, who requested anonymity, indicated that they were not authorized to speak on his behalf.
However, they speculated that the suspension might be politically motivated, possibly linked to his rumored ambition to contest for a senatorial seat—a move believed to have caused unease among some powerful figures within the Kebbi State APC.
