The Academic Board at its 114th Regular Meeting held on 30th April, 2025, considered reports of Fraudulent Admission and Related Matters Investigation Committee (FARMIC) and Examination Misconduct Cases and Malpractice Committee (EMCMC) and approved the following measures against the students listed below
The Kaduna State Polytechnic has taken decisive action against students involved in various academic offenses. Following an investigation, the institution’s 114th Academic Board Meeting approved the expulsion of 63 students and suspension of 36 others.
The disciplinary actions were approved during the institution’s 114th Academic Board Meeting held on April 30, 2025.
The board considered reports submitted by two internal investigative panels: Fraudulent Admission and Related Matters Investigation Committee (FARMIC); Examination Misconduct Cases and Malpractice Committee (EMCMC).
In a circular dated May 5, 2025, and signed by Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs), Abdullahi Muhammad, the Polytechnic’s Registrar, Dr. Muhammed Tanimu, communicated the board’s decision to all staff and students.
“The Academic Board at its 114th Regular Meeting held on 30th April, 2025, considered reports of Fraudulent Admission and Related Matters Investigation Committee (FARMIC) and Examination Misconduct Cases and Malpractice Committee (EMCMC) and approved the following measures against the students listed below.”
The FARMIC panel found that five students gained admission fraudulently. These students include:
– Essien Margret Lawrence
– Maryam Nasir
Their admissions were either withdrawn or they were expelled. The EMCMC committee indicted over 70 students from various departments, including:
– Mass Communication
– Building Technology
– Civil Engineering
– Public Administration
– Architecture
Some notable students who faced disciplinary action include:
– Expelled Students:
   – Lawrence Samuel Anto (Building Technology)
   – Fauziya Abdulrahman Buba (Mass Communication)
   – Ibrahim Muhammed Nazeer (Civil Engineering)
– Suspended Students:
   – Joseline Beauty Jonah
   – Muazu Umar
Three students were exonerated after investigations found no evidence of wrongdoing. One of the exonerated students is:
– Abubakar Ibrahim Ashir (Computer Science Department)
The polytechnic emphasized its commitment to maintaining integrity and discipline on campus. The institution warned that it would continue to impose stiff penalties on students found guilty of academic misconduct.
