Kwankwaso is a fish out of water, trying to find its way back into the waters. We can still have him in, if he wants to join us – Ganduje

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed the party’s willingness to welcome Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano State, into its fold.

Ganduje made this statement during an interaction with newsmen after meeting with Alhaji Yusuf Ata, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.

Ganduje said, “The APC is deepening and widening democracy in the country.

“Kwankwaso is a fish out of water, trying to find its way back into the waters.

“We cannot say we can’t accommodate him, because a friend in need is a friend indeed.

“We don’t want to leave him completely abandoned, we can still have him in, if he wants to join us”.

“When you see your son running to where he would get shelter and you are a big brother in a big home, I think it is morally right to accommodate him.

“So, we cannot say we cannot accommodate him.”

IRN recalls that Hashimu Dungurawa, the Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has asserted that neither the 2023 Presidential Candidate, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, nor others want to switch to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Dungurawa made this statement in response to rumors regarding Kwankwaso’s potential defection to the APC.

Dungurawa said, “Definitely, we (NNPP) don’t have that interest, intention and we see them (APC party) as enemy of democracy. Look at where they led us to today in the country.

“They don’t know people are looking for situation to teach them a lesson, meaning the day of election. Everyday, there vote is diminishing. In 2015, they had almost 20 million votes. In 2019, they score 16 million votes while in 2023, it was 8 million votes.”
