President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy Abubakr Agbotomokekere, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Imam of Oyo State, on his 90th birthday.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended the revered Islamic scholar for his lifelong dedication to faith, peace, and the spiritual development of Nigeria’s Muslim community.

The President described Sheikh Agbotomokekere as a custodian of Islamic values and a teacher of teachers, highlighting his commitment to promoting unity and religious tolerance.

Sheikh Agbotomokekere also serves as Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas across Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta states.

“Sheikh Agbotomokekere has exemplified a life of uprightness, humility, and steadfast devotion to the service of Allah and humanity.”

President Tinubu recognized Sheikh Agbotomokekere’s significant influence as a spiritual leader that extends beyond regional boundaries.

As a member of a respected family of Islamic scholars, Sheikh Agbotomokekere has played a key role in shaping Islamic thought and promoting peaceful coexistence for many years.

The President joined the Muslim community in praying for the Chief Imam’s continued health, strength, and wisdom.
