State Govt. Donates 30 buses to Technical Schools

Today’s education has shifted from content memorisation to creativity, critical thinking, and problem- solving approach. With these vehicles, distance is no longer a barrier as principals in the schools can move about to carry out their activities with ease, monitoring teaching and learning.

In a significant boost to the educational infrastructure in Enugu State, Governor Peter Mbah has generously donated 30 Toyota Hiace buses to the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board (STVSMB).

The buses are set to be distributed to 30 Science, Technical, and Vocational schools across the state, with an additional nine buses earmarked for the remaining nine schools.

This initiative aims to enhance the day-to-day operations of these institutions, facilitating smoother transportation for students, staff, and other stakeholders.

During the presentation ceremony held at the STVSMB premises in Enugu, Governor Mbah, represented by his Special Adviser on Education Innovation and Director of Experiential Learning at Enugu Green Smart School, Dr. Chinyere Onyisi, emphasized that the gesture is designed to ease movement and expedite daily school operations.

By providing these buses, the governor hopes to enable school principals and administrators to focus on delivering quality education without logistical hindrances.

The donation underscores Governor Mbah’s commitment to improving the educational sector in Enugu State.

By investing in the infrastructure and operational efficiency of Science, Technical, and Vocational schools, the government aims to create an environment conducive to learning and skill development.

This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the students and staff, enhancing their ability to achieve academic excellence and contribute to the state’s development.

Onyisi said, “With these vehicles, distance is no longer a barrier as principals in the schools can move about to carry out their activities with ease, monitoring teaching and learning.

“What is happening in Enugu state is a transformation. Today’s education has shifted from content memorisation to creativity, critical thinking and problem- solving approach.”

While Commending the Chairman of the STVSMB, Dr Amaka Ngene, for the outstanding performances in the board, Onyisi said, “I want to encourage the board chairman who is working so hard to ensure that principals are doing the right thing.

“So, we are happy to have a transitional and amazing leader who loves education and prepares our children to become the leaders of tomorrow.”

The Key Stakeholders in the education sector expressed their gratitude and appreciation for Governor Peter Mbah’s generous donation of buses to Science, Technical, and Vocational schools in Enugu State.

Rev. Sr. Kizito, Principal of Special Science School, Oghe, speaking with newsmen, thanked the governor for his thoughtful gesture, acknowledging that the buses would be extremely beneficial to both teachers and students.

She highlighted the potential positive impact of the buses on the school’s daily operations, facilitating smoother transportation and enhancing the overall learning experience.

Similarly, Mr. Sylvester Alumona, Chief Supervisory Principal of Nsukka Education Zone, commended Governor Mbah for his remarkable contributions to the education sector in the state.

Describing the governor’s initiatives as “great works,” Alumona assured that the buses would be utilized for their intended purposes. He also pledged to ensure routine checks and maintenance of the vehicles to prolong their lifespan and guarantee their continued usefulness to the schools.

This commitment underscores the dedication of educational administrators to maximizing the benefits of the governor’s gesture and ensuring that the buses serve their intended purpose effectively.
