Chiamaka Nnadozie etched her name into Paris FC history with a heroic performance that sealed the team’s first major title in nearly two decades. Paris FC edged Paris Saint-Germain(PSG) 5-4 on penalties to win the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine after a goalless draw at Stade de l’Épopée in Calais. The Nigerian goalkeeper’s brilliance ultimately decided the outcome, as she pulled off two decisive penalty saves in the shootout.

Nnadozie denied Korbin Albert and then tipped away Jade Le Guilly’s effort to clinch the title. The 24-year-old’s performance marked her first club silverware since leaving Nigeria, where she had won multiple domestic titles with Rivers Angels and continental honours with the Super Falcons.

The match was a closely contested encounter, with both teams creating chances. Gaëtane Thiney nearly put Paris FC ahead in the fifth minute, while Elisa de Almeida sent in a teasing cross in the 12th minute. PSG responded with attacking intent, with Grace Geyoro and Marie-Antoinette Katoto orchestrating moves in midfield.

As the match remained goalless after 90 minutes, the final moved to penalties. Paris FC struck first through Théa Gréboval, with PSG’s Leuchter levelling. However, Nnadozie’s heroics in the shootout proved decisive, as she saved two crucial penalties to secure the title for Paris FC.

The victory was particularly poignant for Thiney, who made her final cup appearance for the club, and for head coach Sandrine Soubeyrand, whose tactical nous saw the team through a grueling cup run. Nnadozie’s performance added to a list of heroics, showcasing her brilliance at both club and international level.

Nnadozie’s penalty-saving prowess has been impressive, with five saves in just eight matches in the 2023–24 UEFA Women’s Champions League. She has also produced crucial penalty saves during the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers and made headlines at the 2019 World Cup, saving a penalty against France.

The win marked Paris FC’s first major title in nearly two decades, with the team last lifting the Coupe de France in 2005. The victory was a testament to Nnadozie’s growing influence on the match and her importance to the team. With this win, Nnadozie has cemented her place as a key player for Paris FC, and her heroics will undoubtedly be remembered for a long time.
