The government of Kwara State has declared that it intends to construct 15 new schools across the state. These schools will consist of eleven primary schools and four secondary schools.
The populations that are underserved and migratory will be the focus of the educational institutions. Prof. Shehu Adaramaja, who serves as the Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board, divulged this information on Wednesday at a progress briefing that covered events that took place from January to April.
In his statement, Adaramaja emphasized that the program is a component of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s continuous efforts to eliminate learning gaps and expand access to excellent education, particularly in locations that are difficult to access.
He said, “As part of our strategic education plan, 6,993 teachers and school administrators have received training under the New Calhoun Creek programme, aimed at improving instructional quality.
Additionally, he verified the payment of 1,033 newly hired teachers whose salaries had been pending confirmation since February, following a verification exercise, and he oversaw staff development.
He shared the news that 37 new classroom blocks and VIP restrooms have been started to be built across 33 schools in partnership with the Uganda Basic Education Foundation.
He hailed the opening of a new E-Learning Centre in Adida, describing it as a significant step forward in digital education for the state, as way to showcase developments in digital learning.
