Isa Muhammad Wabi, who had previously served as the Chairman of Jama’are Local Government Area in Bauchi State, was stabbed to death by individuals who were acquainted with his son, Abdulgafar Isa Mohammed.
On the morning of Friday, May 2nd, 2025, the incident took place in Fadaman Mada, which is located close to the Government Girls’ Secondary School in Bauchi.
Ahmed Wakil, who serves as the spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command, issued a statement in which he confirmed the attack.
Wakil said, “On the early morning of Friday, May 2, 2025, at about 0403 hours, the police command received a distress call from a Good Samaritan concerning an incident involving an attack by a group of youths at Fadaman Mada, located behind the government Girls’ Secondary School in Bauchi.”
Mr. Wabi, who was 66 years old at the time, was found to be in severe condition as a result of many stab wounds.
A team of officers was instantly summoned to the scene. In order to receive prompt medical assistance, he was sent to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The early inquiry, according to Wakil, indicates that the attack was carried out by two individuals who are acquainted to Wabi’s son.
“The investigation suggests that Ahmad Abdulkadir, also known as Abba, and Faruk Malami, referred to as Ajebo, had entered the home around 0300 hours and subsequently conspired to assault Mr Wabi.
“He sustained multiple stab wounds to the neck. He was also taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.”
One of the suspects, Ajebo, was discovered unconscious at the scene, and it is possible that he was injured as a result of retaliatory measures.
Abdulgafar Isa Mohammed, who is 24 years old, has been brought into jail and is participating in the investigation with the authorities, supplying them with valuable information about the occurrence.
Wakil has given his word that the police are doing a thorough investigation in order to figure out the complete set of circumstances surrounding the assault and to make certain that all those who were involved are brought to justice.
